Route The race starts at 6th St and Canyon Blvd (Boulder Justice Center) and proceeds up Boulder Canyon making a left on Magnolia Rd. After climbing Magnolia Rd to the top, make a right heading north on Peak to Peak Hwy (Hwy 72). After one mile, turn left at Eldora Ave. Just past Nederland High School, make a left on the Shelf Rd and the race will end 1.5 miles later at Patterson Lake just before Eldora Ski Resort.

The Junior race for 10-14 yr olds starts at 9:30am from Nederland High School, then heads west on Eldora Ave. The route then makes and a left on the Shelf Rd and ends at Patterson Lake just before Eldora Ski Resort.

Caution There will be no follow vehicles on course for any category. There will be a rolling enclosure for all categories. If you fall outside the enclosure, you must follow all traffic codes (stay on the shoulder). The course is open to auto traffic.

Afterwards, please carpool vehicles to top, there is VERY LIMITED parking. Or, ride back to Boulder via Boulder Canyon or Magnolia - Warning - the descent near the bottom of Magnolia is very steep, be careful.
Mtb or Road bike ? There have been a lot of questions as to what kind of bike to use. Honestly, it's up to you. The road bike will be faster in Boulder Canyon and at the top of the course on Peak to Peak Hwy and the Shelf Rd. If you are a less serious racer, the Mt bike has more gears for the VERY steep portions of Magnolia and the Shelf Rd and will handle better on the dirt portions of Magnolia. Its your call.

But remember, if you are using the mtb please remove the bar ends or turn them so they are not pointing up or forward (ACA Rules).
